At Jorgensen Associates, Inc., we are looking for a skilled, dynamic, and detail-oriented Survey Party Chief to lead our field surveying teams and contribute to projects that make a lasting impact on communities in our Jackson, WY, Pinedale, WY or Kemmerer, WY locations.

As a Survey Party Chief, you will be at the forefront of our surveying operations, leading a team in the field to ensure accurate and efficient data collection. You will use your expertise in surveying practices and innovative technology to produce precise results that support our diverse projects. Your role is vital in transforming raw data into actionable insights, helping shape the landscapes and infrastructure of tomorrow.

  • Lead and manage field survey crews in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of survey data on various job locations.

  • Ensure adherence to the principles outlined in “The Model Standards of Practice” by the National Society of Professional Surveyors.

  • Perform and oversee all computations necessary for the collection and dissemination of survey data, including uploading and downloading digital data.

  • Maintain accurate and legible field notes and sketches that form the foundation of our projects.

  • Communicate effectively with technical staff, contractors, clients, and client representatives, ensuring a professional and collaborative environment.

  • Responsible for the maintenance and operations of all survey equipment and instruments.

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in field surveying, drafting, and analysis.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Solid understanding of basic math, geometry, trigonometry, and algebra, with a working knowledge of boundary principles, land ownership, deed conveyance, and topography.

  • Proficiency in operating personal computers and surveying equipment, including GPS, AutoCAD, and relevant surveying software.

  • A valid driver’s license is necessary, as you will be on the move to various project sites.

 

Preferred requirements:

  • LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training) certification.

  • Experience in photogrammetry, navigation, monumentation, and mapping.
